1. Agreement and scope
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the LifeHash website, browser wallet, and related services provided by LifeHash ("we," "us," or "our"), collectively the "Services." By using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled. Separate terms may apply to third-party services and to features with additional terms presented before use. Open-source software licenses govern the rights they grant independently of these Terms.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms, and be permitted to use the Services under applicable law. If you use the Services for an organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms on its behalf.
3. What LifeHash provides
LifeHash provides tools for creating, managing, publishing, and verifying identity evidence using XYO Layer 1. Features may be experimental, available only in certain deployments, or dependent on external providers and networks.
A proof or verification result describes particular evidence under a protocol. It is not a guarantee of a person's legal identity, honesty, eligibility, continuing account control, or suitability for a transaction. You are responsible for deciding whether evidence is sufficient for your intended use.
LifeHash does not provide financial, investment, legal, or other professional advice. Availability of a feature or a description of a planned feature does not promise future functionality or continued support.
4. Your wallet, keys, and backups
You control your wallet and are responsible for securing your device, recovery phrase, private keys, passwords, and backups. LifeHash servers do not hold your private signing keys or sign transactions on your behalf. Any verification witness signs with its own key.
We cannot reset or recover a lost recovery phrase or private key. Clearing browser storage, losing a device, exposing a backup, or authorizing a malicious request can cause permanent loss of access or unauthorized activity. Any recovery feature has its own prerequisites and does not guarantee that lost keys or private data can be recovered.
Review the destination, network, permissions, information disclosed, and any fees before approving an action. Protect access to any external wallet you connect and notify us of suspected vulnerabilities without disclosing secrets.
5. Public records, disclosures, and network fees
Actions you authorize may create public blockchain records that others can read, copy, and retain indefinitely. Addresses and transaction metadata may be linkable to you. Withdrawing a claim changes its meaning within LifeHash; it does not erase the claim's history or information already shared with another person.
Blockchain transactions may be delayed, fail, or become irreversible when finalized. We cannot reverse finalized transactions or require independent network participants to modify their records. You are responsible for network and third-party fees associated with actions you approve, including fees that a network charges for unsuccessful transactions.
Any fees charged by LifeHash for a paid feature will be disclosed before you agree to incur them. Nothing in these Terms limits refund or cancellation rights required by law.
6. Acceptable use
You may use the Services for lawful purposes in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
- Impersonate another person, fabricate evidence of control, or make claims about accounts or identifiers you are not authorized to use.
- Publish or disclose another person's private information without appropriate authority, or infringe privacy, intellectual property, or other legal rights.
- Use verification or invitation features to send unsolicited messages, harass others, or attempt unauthorized account access.
- Introduce malicious code, disrupt the Services, evade security or abuse-prevention controls, or access systems or data without authorization.
- Use the Services for fraud or other unlawful activity, or violate applicable sanctions or export restrictions.
These restrictions do not limit activities that applicable law or an applicable open-source license expressly permits.
7. Your information and intellectual property
You retain any ownership rights you have in information you submit. You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit, publish, or share it. You grant us only the rights necessary to process, store, transmit, and display that information to provide the Services and carry out your instructions, subject to the Privacy Policy. Public records and copies shared with others may persist after you stop using the Services.
The Services' branding, website content, and other protected materials belong to their respective owners. Subject to these Terms, you may access and use the Services for their intended purpose. These Terms do not grant rights to use LifeHash or third-party trademarks. Components distributed under open-source licenses remain subject to those licenses, which control if these Terms conflict with the rights they grant.
8. Third-party services
The Services may interact with independently operated blockchains, wallets, identity providers, message delivery services, gateways, storage services, and websites. Their terms and privacy policies govern your use of their services. We do not control their availability, charges, security, or decisions, and a link or integration does not by itself endorse them.
You are responsible for reviewing the permissions and terms of third-party services you choose to use. Our obligations for providers acting on our behalf remain subject to applicable law.
9. Changes, suspension, and termination
We may change or discontinue features as the Services develop, or restrict access to services we operate where reasonably necessary for security, maintenance, legal compliance, or a material breach of these Terms. Where reasonably practicable, we will provide notice of material service changes or restrictions and an opportunity to preserve locally accessible data. Urgent security or legal circumstances may require immediate action.
You may stop using the Services at any time. Stopping use or losing access to this website does not remove public blockchain records. Provisions that by their nature should continue, including those addressing public records, intellectual property, liability, and disputes, survive termination.
10. Warranties and service risks
To the extent permitted by law, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, the accuracy or completeness of third-party evidence, or that a feature will meet your particular requirements.
You understand the risks of experimental software, cryptographic systems, public networks, and self-managed keys. Nothing in these Terms excludes statutory warranties or consumer protections that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, LifeHash and its service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses arising from use of, or inability to use, the Services, including loss of profits, business opportunities, or data.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, willful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Applicable mandatory consumer rights remain in effect.
12. Questions, disputes, and general terms
Contact support@xyo.network about the Services or a dispute so we can try to resolve it. This does not prevent you from exercising legal rights, seeking urgent relief, or bringing a claim before a court with jurisdiction. Applicable law, including any mandatory protections in your place of residence, governs your rights and obligations.
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect to the extent permitted by law. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later. These Terms and any additional terms expressly agreed for a feature form the agreement concerning your use of the Services.
13. Updates to these Terms
We may revise these Terms and will post the new version here with an updated date. Material changes will receive reasonable advance notice where practicable, and any notice or consent required by law. Changes apply prospectively from their stated effective date. If you do not agree to updated Terms, stop using the affected Services; continuing to use them after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
For questions about these Terms, contact LifeHash at support@xyo.network.
14. LifeHash SMS Verification
When enabled, LifeHash SMS Verification sends one-time codes that you request to confirm control of your phone number for identity binding. This program does not send marketing messages.
You opt in by entering your phone number, separately agreeing to the SMS consent displayed with the verification form, and requesting a code. SMS verification is optional and is not required to use your wallet or unrelated features.
Message frequency varies with your verification requests. Requests for replacement codes can generate additional messages, and service replies may confirm changes to your messaging preferences or provide help. Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP to opt out of the SMS program. You may receive a confirmation of your opt-out, after which no further messages will be sent unless you opt in again. Opting out prevents further SMS verification; it does not delete your wallet or erase blockchain records.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on your carrier and network availability.
Our Privacy Policy for SMS Verification explains how we handle your phone number and messaging preferences.
